Greetings to the awesome Senior “Classics” of The Worship Center!

March activity:

Thanks to the Senior “Classics” who came to the Long Term Care & Rehab Center in Leesburg on Wednesday, March 24th to help conduct a church service for some of the residents.  Special thanks to Aaron Hall who played the piano for us and to the following Seniors who sang hymns, greeted the residents and prayed for the residents at the end of our service:  Ron and LaNeta Beach, Millie Pratt, Jenna Pratt, Macy Santmyer, Sheila Henry, and myself.  The devotional was on “Feeding on the Word of God.” We always leave feeling blessed for having ministered to these precious people.

April activity:

Senior Classics in Lancaster, PAOn Friday, April 9th sixteen of us traveled in the shuttle bus to Lancaster, Pa. to the Millenium Theater to see the new production of the life of Joseph.  (Thank you Ronnie for driving us).  This 2-1/2 hour production is among the favorites which I have seen; the sets were beautiful as were the costumes, the music, and actors.  The animals are wonderfully trained and right on cue.  If you could not attend I encourage you to go in the future; the production will run through October, 2010.  The story of Joseph was very close to the Bible narrative. We also enjoyed a meal together at an Amish restaurant before the show.

May activity:

We will be co-hosting with our Women’s Ministry Dept. our annual Mother’s Day luncheon scheduled for Saturday, May 8th at 12 noon.  The guest speaker will be Linda Webb, Potomac District Director of Women’s Ministries.  Ladies:  mark your calendar for this special event.  There will be a signup sheet in the church foyer.

Café 29

I encourage you to volunteer at one or more of our monthly Café 29 meals for the less fortunate by signing up in the church foyer to either help cook, serve, cleanup or be a greeter.  Or, perhaps you can provide a monetary donation or groceries for the meal. The next meal is scheduled for May 15th from 12 noon to 2 p.m.

Blessings!

Charlotte Howard, Director
